Jodel DR.105A Ambassadeur G-AXUE near Bagby airfield.

At 17.20hrs on Sunday, 11th June 1989 this aircraft was coming into land at Bagby airfield when it was caught by a gust of wind. It was blown off the approach line, struck a tree around two hundred metres from the runway and crashed. One of those on board sustained injuries.

Passenger - Name unknown.


The aircraft was built in 1959 and had previously been registered in France as F-BKFX and then F-OBFX before arriving in the UK and being registered on the civilian register as G-AXUE in 1969. At the time of this incident it was registered to Mr Lawrence Lewis, of Redcar, who based it at Bagby.
