Glaser-Dirks DG-200 BGA.2299 at Rufforth airfield.
During the evening of 21st May 1988 this glider was given an aero-tow launch at Rufforth airfield for a flight in the local area. At 18.19hrs the glider made an approach to land at Rufforth airfield but the runway ahead was blocked by a motor-glider that was suffered an engine problem whilst taxying. Two other gliders were gliders awaiting take off. The pilot held off landing and then landed in long grass beside the runway but groundlooped and was damaged. This glider was registered to the Ouse and Hambletons Gliding Club and was based at Rufforth airfield.
