Unidentified Slingsby T.41 Skylark 2 (BGA.1549?) damaged in the air, landed at Burn airfield.

During a flight made in the Burn area on 21st May 1988 this pilot descended from around 5700 feet at high speed and it was observed from the ground that the wing tips were bent down as it made an approach to land. It went on to land normally at 18.30hrs but on inspection there was a large hole in the right wing and the fabric on the left wing needed to be replaced.

Skylark 2 BGA.1549 was based at Burn and registered to S.Naylor. In the Soaring Yearbook for 1986-87 (I haven't the 1988 one) it was the only Skylark 2 that was listed as being based at Burn. While any visiting glider may have been damaged at Burn I would offer my guess at BGA.1549 being the identity of it.
