This aircraft belonged to No.3 Flight, Army Air Corps and was based at Alanbrooke Barracks, at Topcliffe airfield. On 29th April 1986 it was being flown on a low flying exercise in the Catterick military training area and while attempting to avoid striking birds near Hudswell it flew into cables or wires. The helicopter then crashed near Middlemoor Farm, around a mile south of Hudswell injuring the four occupants.
