Piper PA-28R-200-2 Cherokee Arrow II G-BDKV at Netherthorpe airfield.

This was the second accident at Netherthorpe airfield to occur in two days with both occurring on landing following flights from Lulsgate Bottom airfield, Bristol. At 13.45hrs on 2nd May 1986 this aircraft landed half way down the airstrip, it landed in the direction of the downhill slope that the airfield had and the pilot was unable to stop in the distance that remained. The aircraft overshot, one of the main wheels ran into a ditch which then saw the wing hit the ground and it caused substantial damage to one of the wings. The aircraft was registered to Jacqui-Toni Smithies, of Drewsteignton, Devon at the time.
