Gulfstream G-164D Ag Cat G-DCAT near Cridling Stubbs.

During the morning of 3rd July 1985 the pilot of this aircraft was due to spray a crop of peas on farmland at Cridling Stubbs with pesticide / fungicide. There were two sets of high tension power cables across part of the field and on the pilot's first spraying run across the field he flew beneath the first set and had intended to fly above the second set but flew into them. The aircraft flipped 360' over and crashed into the field the correct way up having sustained substantial damage. The location is given in newspapers as being at South Park Farm but I cannot locate a farm with this name. There are Nearpark and Farpark Farms that have a network of powerlines crossing their land. The aircraft was registered to Miller Aerial Spraying Ltd, of Langworth, Lincoln, but was based at the former Hutton Cranswick airfield.

Pilot - Mr Leslie Kitson.

The pilot had previous served in the RAF and was living at Southburn, East Yorkshire at the time of this incident.
