LET L-13 Blanik BGA.2173 at "Stockhill".
At 12.35hrs on 4th July 1985 the pilot of this glider made an approach to land in a field at Stockhill, Yorkshire but believed that the speed was too high so opened the spoilers. He then turned into the field at too low height and wing tip caught a crop which caused it to hit the ground and groundloop.
Exactly where this occurred is unclear. There is a Stockhill near Settle, but there is a Stockhill Farm around a mile from the gliding site at Sutton Bank. In the 1984-85 British Soaring Handbook this glider is listed as registered to the Yorkshire Gliding Club at Sutton Bank.
