Grumman AA-1B Trainer G-BDNY at Doncaster airfield.

At 10.10hrs on 25th March 1984 this aircraft was attempting to take off on a wet grass runway at Doncaster airfield with a crosswind blowing. The airfield had some standing water on it at the time and while the pilot was attempting to take off to the side of this, one of the wheels caught it just prior to becoming airborne. This caused the aircraft to be dragged to the right. It then left the runway, hit a ditch and an earth bank which caused the aircraft to overturn. Both pilot and passenger sustained injuries. The aircraft was registered to Mr Martin Ray Langford, of Haxey, who presumably stored the aircraft at Doncaster airfield.
