Unidentified Schleicher Ka-6CR near Dishforth.

At 18.24hrs on 7th July 1984 on an aero tow-launch at Dishforth airfield the cable broke with the glider at 200 feet above the ground. The pilot attempted to make a landing straight ahead but as the field was a crop of standing corn the glider crashed into it, sustaining damage to the tail.

The entry in Sailplane and Gliding magazine that records the incident identifies the glider as Ka-6CR BGA.749 but this cannot be correct as BGA.749 was a Slingsby T.7 Cadet.

Pilot - Name unknown.
