On 13th August 1983 this glider was being flown around Rufforth airfield with a pupil being given training by an instructor. The pupil flew the glider into the ground, probably on landing because the instructor did not take control in time to avoid the crash. The glider was registered to Leeds Polytechnic and was based at Rufforth airfield.
