Slingsby T.45 Swallow BGA.1169 at Doncaster airfield.
At 16.00hrs on 3rd June 1983 during a pilot's first solo flight they made a low circuit of Doncaster airfield with the airbrakes extended. The pilot mistook the effect of the airbrake for that of stalling and pushed the nose down to gain speed. The glider then made a heavy landing in an area of rough ground on the airfield and the port wing struck a pile of rubble. The glider was registered to the Doncaster Gliding Club.
