Grumman American AA-1B Traveller G-BBUH at Doncaster airfield.

On Saturday, 8th January 1977 this aircraft struck a glider tow cable on take off at Doncaster airfield. The tow cable became entangled with the wing when the aircraft was around fifty feet above the ground which caused it to dive into the ground. The pilot received serious injuries but survived.

The aircraft was owned by Mr David and Margaret Orriss (trading as D.M.O.Travel), of Shelley, Huddersfield. Mr Orriss was a director of Doncaster Aero Club.
