Schleicher KA.4 BGA.1771 at Doncaster airfield.
In March 1975 a fire in a building at Doncaster airfield destroyed at least two gliders. Slingsby T.55 Regal Eagle BGA.821 and Schleicher KA.4 BGA.1771 were the two noted gliders that were destroyed, these were stated in Sailplane and Gliding magazine to have both been privately owned. The fire also damaged half of the Doncaster Gliding Club's workshop facilities. The exact date of the fire is not known. Please get in touch if you know when it was.
