Unidentified aircraft near Masham.
Yorkshire Air News gives some details of a damaged aeroplane in the Masham area in Summer 1973. It stated that during the Summer of 1973 a farm field at Badger Lane Farm, a mile south of Masham on the Grewelthorpe road, was used as a base for an aircraft or several aircraft of "Prospectors". A crop spraying business was operated from the site but also their pilots also gave free joyride flights to local people. On an unknown date and during a landing there, the wind direction changed and the pilot could not prevent the aircraft from running into a tree. Damage resulted to the nose, propeller and undercarriage.
The aircraft may have been an Edgar Percival EP9 (later known as Lancashire Aircraft Prospector)
Pilot - Name unknown.
