Cessna FR.172J Reims Rocket G-BAIL at Grindale airstrip.
Yorkshire Air News states that on 24th February 1973 this aircraft was collected from Northair at Leeds-Bradford airfield by "its new owners but then crashed at Grindale". It arrived back at Northair on the back of a lorry on 2nd March 1973. I infer from this that it crashed on landing on the delivery flight. The aircraft was probably owned or leased by the Grindale Sports Parachute Centre but on paper it was never registered to them. It was registered to Northair Aviation Ltd, of Leeds-Bradford airfield from November 1972 to March 1974. In April 1974 it was registered to Mr Malcolm Noel Dale, of Brompton, Scarborough.
