Vickers 806 Viscount G-AOYH at Leeds-Bradford airfield.
At around 14.00hrs on Wednesday, 22nd August 1973 this aircraft was landing on Runway 15 at Leeds-Bradford following a flight from Dublin when it clipped a large standard light beside the A658 road. The lamp head was removed and the glass shattered on the road. The aircraft sustained damage to a tyre and the fuel jettison pipe but went on to land normally despite the damage and all crew and over seventy passengers were uninjured. The incident appeared in newspapers which an interviewee believed that the aircraft had made the landing approach at too low height, therefore was pilot error and the pilot was suspended. The aircraft was owned by Northeast Airlines (UK) at the time of the incident.
