Victor droptank near Ebberston.
On 28th December 1972 a Victor droptank from a 543 Squadron aircraft, based at Wyton, fell some 30,000 feet after being released from the aircraft and crashed into a field around a mile north of Ebberston near Pheasant Hill and made a crater some twenty feet deep. The Victor would have gone on to make a normal landing.
