Jet Provost T.4 XR658 damaged in the air, (probably) landed at Finningley airfield.
On 26th October 1971 this No.6 Flying Training School aircraft suffered the canopy detach whilst in the air. As it left the aircraft it then struck and damaged the tail. The pilot briefly lost control of the aircraft but went on to regain control and landed normally. An inspection found that the airframe had been overstressed in regaining control and it was subsequently made into a Ground Instructional Airframe 8192M.
