Devon C.2 VP973 near Scorborough.
On 3rd March 1971 this 21 Squadron aircraft was being flown from Scampton to Leconfield when it flew into a snow storm as it neared Leconfield. At around 10.30hrs the aircraft made a forced landing in a ploughed field near Decoy Farm, Scorborough, around a mile north of Leconfield airfield. Why the pilot opted to force land there, who were the aircraft's crew and whether any of those names below were passengers is not yet clear. 21 Squadron were based at Andover.
