Varsity T.1 WF370 at Finningley airfield.
On 4th September 1970 a fire inside a locked No.2 hanger at Finningley caused severe damage to several aircraft inside the hanger. Airmen and over a hundred civilian fire fighters were employed fighting the fire which was eventually brought under control. No.6 Flying Training School Varsity WF370 was one of the aircraft that was badly damaged and it was later sent to Catterick airfield to be used for fire fighting practice. The fire was suspected to have been arson.
