Jodel DR.1050 Ambassadeur G-AXUK near Barwick in Elmet.

On 12th May 1970 this aircraft flew into a 11,000 volt electric cable at Scarthington Farm, Tadcaster. The pilot managed to keep the aircraft in the air despite a broken propeller but eventually made a forced landing in a field neat Barwick in Elmet where the undercarriage then broke in the landing. The damaged aircraft was later taken to Sherburn in Elmet for repair.

The aircraft was registered to Messers Peter Anthony Ellway, Arthur Robert Moore, John Lloyd Wormald and John Robin Riley Gale, of various locations in Yorkshire. The probably based the aircraft at Sherburn in Elmet.
