DH.82A Tiger Moth G-AODS at Sherburn in Elmet airfield.
On 5th July 1970 this aircraft stalled and crashed at Sherburn in Elmet airfield during a display held by the Yorkshire Territorial Flying Group. The pilot and a passenger sustained injuries.
Pilot - Mr Slater.
Passenger - Name unknown.
The aircraft was registered to Mr Norman Herbert Jones, of Surrey, and a number of his aircraft crashed in Yorkshire in the early 1970s. The aircraft incident is listed in Yorkshire Air News as being one of the "clubs" (ie, Sherburn Aero Club) aircraft. I suspect that Norman Jones leased out aircraft.
