Auster AOP.9 XP286 at Leconfield airfield.
Very little is known what occurred on 15th August 1968 that saw Auster XP286 crash on landing at Leconfield. A Cat.5 damage assessment
was recorded but the damage cannot have seen the aircraft be totally destroyed as it was later converted into Ground Instructional Airframe
8044M. The aircraft was on charge with the Station Flight at West Raynham at the time of this incident. It still exists and was on show at
the South Yorkshire Aviation Museum.
