Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche G-AVFW at Driffield.
On 5th July 1968 this aircraft taxied into hanger door at Driffield where it was based by its owners, Vertex (Optical) Ltd. The damage was minor and it was flying again a week later. Whether this incident occurred at what had been Driffield RAF airfield or a small farm strip in the area is not clear. I suspect it was not at the former Driffield RAF airfield but it may have been up at Cottam where Vertex (Optical) Ltd had used to base a Beech Musketeer some years earlier.
