Jet Provost T.4 XP625 near North Frodingham.

This aircraft was on charge with the College of Air Warfare, based at Manby, Lincolnshire and on Wednesday, 27th July 1966 it was on a flight over East Yorkshire when birds were sucked into the engine. This caused the engine to fail. The pilot ejected and the aircraft crashed into a cornfield near Frodingham Bridge on the North Frodingham to Brigham road just after 10.30hrs. A helicopter from Leconfield was sent to assist and located the pilot near the crash site, he was taken back to Leconfield by 11.10hrs.
