DH.82A Tiger Moth G-APCU at Sherburn in Elmet airfield.

On Thursday, 18th August 1966 this aircraft was making an approach to land at Sherburn in Elmet airfield when the wheels struck a crop of standing corn fifty yards short of the runway. This caused the aircraft to then hit the ground and it tipped onto its nose.

At the time of this incident the aircraft was owned by the Curzon Flying Group, the three trustees of which were William Oldroyd, William Brook Nelson and John Burrow, who were all based in the Leeds area. The aircraft was probably based at Sherburn in Elmet airfield.
