On Sunday, 13th June 1965 this French registered aircraft struck the top of a wall while taking off from Ringstone Edge, the site used by Halifax Gliding Club. It crashed inverted in a field trapping the injured passenger who was pulled clear by the pilot.
Pilot - Mr David Whitham.
Passenger - Mr Ronald Oldham, aged 36. Injured.
Both men had owned this aeroplane for a few weeks prior to this crash and had based it at Leeds-Bradford airfield. Mr Whitham later ran Crosland Moor airfield.
