Whirlwind HAR.10 XK990 damaged in the air, landed at Leconfield airfield.
During a flight being made by this B-Flight 228 Squadron aircraft on 17th March 1964 and after fifty minutes of flight the starboard cockpit sliding door detached from the aircraft. The helicopter later landed at Leconfield airfield. A search located the missing door but a guide rail was not located.
