Unidentified Jet Provost damaged in the air, landed at Topcliffe airfield.

On an unknown date during June 1964 during a night flying exercise carried out by an aircraft from Leeming but carried out at Topcliffe airfield a Jet Provost flew into a flock of seagulls while making an overshoot of Topcliffe airfield. The aircraft had two flying instructors in it at the time and despite sustaining some damage the pilot went on to land safely at Topcliffe. The aircraft was probably one from No.3 Flying Training School who were based at Leeming airfield.

The No.3 Flying Training School orb lists two damage assessments during June 1964, one a Cat.4 and one a Cat.3 (with one of these being a non-flying incident).
