Jet Provost XN600 was built to contract KC/E/031 by Hunting Percival Ltd. at Luton and was awaiting collection on 15th June 1961. The following day it went to 27 MU at Shawbury and it was initially taken on charge by No.3 Flying Training School at Leeming on 2nd November 1961. As a result of the incident on 17th October 1962 Cat.3R damage was the assessment and it was repaired on site by 60 MU. On 14th January 1963 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury, on 4th March 1968 it went to 5 MU at Kemble and on 25th April 1968 it returned to 27 MU at Shawbury. On 16th May 1968 it was taken on charge by 23 MU or the Station Flight at Aldergrove. On 6th August 1968 it went back to 27 MU at Shawbury. On 19th June 1969 it was taken on charge by No.7 Engineering Squadron at St. Athan as a 'hack' aircraft and on 21st January 1972 it was damaged, as repairable Cat.3R status whilst operating out of St. Athan. It appears to have been repaired but on 28th May 1976 it was struck off charge and broken up but the nose retained. In 1987 the nose was with No.168 ATC Squadron, Leeds. In July 1988 the nose section was sold to North Yorkshire Aircraft Recovery Group, at Chop Gate, North Yorkshire. It later went to the Aviodrome at Schipol, Netherlands and in 2004 was on display at Lelystad, Netherlands.
