Jet Provost T.3 XN507 at Linton on Ouse airfield.

On 10th April 1962 Jet Provost XN507 of No.1 Flying Training School had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it, the unit was based at Linton on Ouse and any damage sustained in a crash probably occurred there. More information is required to learn what occurred.

Jet Provost XN507 was built to contract KC/E/031 by Hunting Percival Ltd. at Luton and was awaiting collection on 15th December 1960. On 8th January 1961 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury and on 30th January 1961 it was taken on charge by No.1 Flying Training School at Linton on Ouse. It had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 10th April 1962 but exactly what happened is not yet known. It was repaired on site and returned to No.1 F.T.S. charge. On 23th September 1966 it went back to 27 MU at Shawbury then on 3rd November 1972 it went to 5 MU at Kemble and on 8th August 1974 it was struck off charge, then scrapped.
