Jet Provost T.3 XM413 at Church Fenton airfield.

In the published history of this aircraft it states that on 19th December 1962 Jet Provost XM413 of No.7 Flying Training School suffered repairable Cat.3R damage in an incident, probably at Church Fenton airfield where the unit was based. Exactly what happened is not yet known.

Jet Provost XM413 was built to contract 6/ACFT/14157 by Hunting Percival Ltd. at Luton and was awaiting collection on 26th February 1960. It was immediately flown to 27 Mu at Shawbury on 1st March 1960 and then on 22nd March 1960 it was taken on charge by the Central Flying School at Little Rissington. On 20th March 1961 it sustained Cat.3R as a result of damage sustained in a landing accident at Aston Down. It was repaired on site and returned to CFS charge on 6th June 1961. On 23rd January 1962 it was transferred to No.7 Flying Training School at Church Fenton. On 19th December 1961 it receied a Cat.3R damage assessment. It would have been repaired on site and returned to No.7 F.T.S. charge. On 30th June 1966 it was transferred to No.2 Flying Training School at Syerston. On 22nd July 1969 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury and then on 22nd February 1972 it went to 5 MU at Kemble. On 19th January 1976 it was declared a non-effective airframe and on 28th May 1976 it was taken to Princess Marina College, Aborfield, Berkshire for use as a Army Ground Instructional Airframe. After this nothing more of the aircraft is known.
