Jet Provost T.3 XN556 at Linton on Ouse airfield.
On 18th September 1961 Jet Provost XN556 of No.1 Flying Training School, normally based at Linton on Ouse, suffered the starboard undercarriage leg
collapse on landing at Rufforth airfield. The damage was later repaired.

Jet Provost XN556 was built to contract KC/E/031 by Hunting Percival Ltd. at Luton and was awaiting collection on 22nd February 1961. On 28th February 1961 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury and on
13th April 1961 it was taken on charge by No.1 Flying Training School at Linton on Ouse. As a result of damage sustained at Linton on Ouse on 18th September 1961 Cat.3R damage was the damage
assessment and it was repaired on site. It returned to No.1 F.T.S. charge on 24th November 1961. On 4th September 1963 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury and on 20th September 1963 it was taken on charge
by No.6 Flying Training School at Acklington. On 14th June 1968 it was transferred back to No.1 Flying Training School at Linton on Ouse. On 17th March 1970 it crashed at Linton on Ouse airfield.
The damage assessment was Cat.5s that saw it being struck off charge.
