Hunter F.6 XG188 near Thixendale.
On Monday, 15th May 1961 this 19 Squadron aircraft entered an uncontrolled spin during a practice dog fighter over the Yorkshire Wolds. The pilot ejected at around 5,000 feet and landed near Fridaythorpe, he was later picked up by helicopter and flown back to his base at Leconfield. The aircraft went on to crash near Raisthorpe Manor, Thixendale.
