Javelin FAW.4 XA752 at Leeming airfield.

On 2nd March 1961 this 72 Squadron aircraft was making an approach to land at Leeming airfield at night when someone on the ground raised an overshoot barrier by mistake. The Javelin struck the barrier which caused the undercarriage to collapse and it came to rest with significant damage. Why the aircraft was landing at Leeming is not known. 72 Squadron were based at Leconfield at the time.
