Provost T.1 XF613 at Linton on Ouse airfield (?).

On 23rd July 1960 Provost XF613 of No.1 Flying Training School had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it, the assumption is that it was damaged in the air or on the ground at Linton on Ouse airfield where the unit was based.

Pilot - Name unknown.


Provost XF613 was built to contract 6/ACFT/9850 by Hunting Percival Aircraft Ltd. at Luton and was awaiting collection on 23rd March 1955. It initially went to 12 MU at Kirkbride on 28th March 1955 and on 14th April 1955 it was taken on charge by No.3 Flying Training School at Feltwell. On 30th November 1958 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury and on 18th August 1959 it was taken on charge by No.1 Flying Training School at Linton on Ouse. A Cat.3R damage assessment was recorded against it on 23rd July 1960 and it would have been repaired on site. On 28th April 1961 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury but on 18th June 1962 it was declared a non-effective airframe so was struck off charge. On 15th July 1963 it was sold to B.A.C. at Luton and after this nothing more of it is known.
