Provost T.1 WW397 at Linton on Ouse airfield.

On 15th February 1960 Provost WW397, of the Station Flight, Linton on Ouse airfield, tipped on it's nose while landing at Linton On Ouse airfield. Repairable damage resulted.

Provost WW397 was built to contract 6/ACFT/3875/CB.9(a) by Hunting Percival Aircraft Ltd. at Luton and was awaiting collection on 19th September 1954. Two days later it was flown to 12 MU at Kirkbride and on 4th October 1954 it was taken on charge by No.3 Flying Training School at Feltwell. On 2nd May 1958 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury and on 30th October 1959 it was taken on charge by Linton on Ouse's Station Flight. On 15th February 1960 it sustained repairable Cat.3R and would have been repaired on site. On 17th March 1960. on completion of the repair, it was taken on charge by No.1 Flying Training School at Linton on Ouse. On 29th May 1961 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury. On 19th October 1966 it was taken on charge by the Central Flying School (Primary) at South Cerney. On 2nd October 1967 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury. On 7th October 1968 it was taken on charge by the Central Flying School (Primary) at Church Fenton but on 28th October 1968 it went back to 27 MU at Shawbury. It was then converted to Ground Instructional Airframe 8060M and went to No.1 School of Technical Training at Halton on 30th October 1969. In 1982 it was restored to flying condition and on 26th August 1982 it was sold to M.Crymble at Lyneham and registered on the UK civilian register as G-BKHP. On 12th November 1993 it was sold to a customer in New Zealand and the UK registration was cancelled. It was later registered as ZK-SGN to James Slade, of Omaka, New Zealand in 1992. After this nothing more is known of it.
