Provost T.1 WV616 at Linton on Ouse airfield.

During the night of 17th June 1959 this No.1 Flying Training School aircraft landed at Linton on Ouse airfield and the port undercarriage leg sheared off.

Provost WV616 was built to contract 6/ACFT/3875/CB.9(a) by Hunting Percival Aircraft Ltd. at Luton and was awaiting collection on 15th April 1954. It was initially taken on charge by No.22 Flying Training School at Syerston on 29th April 1954 but on 1st May 1955 this unit was redesignated No.1 Flying Training School. The unit later moved to Linton on Ouse on 18th November 1957. On 17th June 1959 it was damaged at Linton on Ouse when the port undercarriage leg sheared off on landing at Linton on Ouse. Cat.3R damage was the damage assessment and it was repaired on site. On 8th January 1960 it was again damaged at Linton on Ous, Cat.3R damage resulted and it was again repaired on site. On 2nd February 1961 it went to 27 MU at Shawbury and on 28th November 1963 it was declared a non-effective airframe. It was struck of charge and then went to B.K.Alloys as scrap.
