On 23rd September 1959 this aircraft swung on landing at Leeming airfield in a cross wind and the tail wheel assembly failed. It sustained damage that saw it later struck off charge after assessment. It was on the books of the Station Flight, Binbrook at the time. On 24th March 1960 an Anson fuselage was deliberately set on fire to give airfield staff the opportunity to practice putting out an aeroplane fire and cockpit rescue. The remains of Anson WJ514 may have been the fuselage used.
