On 12th February 1958 this No.1 Flying Training School aircraft was taking off from Linton on Ouse airfield at No.2 in a formation when it struck a bird. The pilot attempted to abandon the take off but the aircraft skidded on a wet surface and the pilot then raised the undercarriage to bring it to a halt close to the airfield boundary.
