On 10th December 1957 this No.1 Air Navigation School aircraft suffered an undercarriage leg being jammed while in the air, the crew managed to cure the problem but it subsequently collapsed on landing at Topcliffe airfield. The damage was initially assessed as repairable but it appears this was never carried out.
