Venom FB.1 WL874 damaged in the air, landed at Driffield airfield.

On an unknown date during March 1957 the pilot of this 219 Squadron was flying a training exercise at around 3,000 feet when he felt a bump somewhere in the aircraft. He landed normally at Driffield airfield and an inspection found a large hole in the tailplane. Some feathers and blood around the hole suggested that the aircraft had struck a bird. The aircraft required a change of tailplane.
