On 26th April 1957 this aircraft suffered the canopy open and break away mid-flight which struck and damaged the aircraft's tail as it detached. The pilot landed the aircraft, probably at Church Fenton and it was later repaired. The aircraft was on the books of the Station Flight, Church Fenton at the time and was at one point the personal aircraft of Wing Commander Maurice Shaw who may well have been the pilot when this incident occurred.
