On 10th April 1957 this Fighter Weapons School aircraft was hit by a ricochet during an air to ground firing exercise, probably on the range at Skipsea. The pilot was able to remain in control and made a landing at base of Leconfield airfield but the damage was assessed and the aircraft was not repaired.
