Around this period in history 215 Squadron were based at Dishforth airfield and were giving demonstration flights to army officers based at the Deerbolt Army Camp at Barnard Castle, the flights also allowed for the examination of airstrips. On 23rd July 1956 one such flight took place and along with the pilot he carried four passengers, possibly all officers of the 24th Independant Infantry Brigade (based at Deerbolt). In attempting to take off downwind from a landing site near Lamb Hill farm the aircraft struck a fence and crashed into a ditch. No injuries resulted. The only Lamb Hill Farm that would fit for the location is a couple of miles north of Barnard Castle and is outside Yorkshire.
