The 228 Operational Conversion Unit record book gives the following information, but without an exact date, that in March 1956 this 228 Operational Conversion Unit aircraft suffered heat damage to the area around the engine which blistered two square feet of the engine cowling. The damage was not discovered until it had landed at Leeming airfield. The pilot appears to have been an instructor at the unit at the time, he was posted out in June 1957.
