On 25th August 1955 this Fighter Weapons School aircraft was being flown on a training exercise that involved making roller landings at Leconfield airfield followed by taking off again. After making one landing the pilot abandoned taking off but the aircraft rolled into the overshoot area and burst a tyre. Minor damage resulted but the student pilot was unhurt.
