At night on 14th / 15th January 1955 this No.8 Flying Training School aircraft collided in the circuit of Driffield airfield with Meteor VW421 also of the same unit. Both aircraft went on to landed safely at Driffield airfield. VW459 was later repaired though this was delayed because of spares availability and was completed in June 1955. VW421 was apparently not damaged.
