At night on 14th / 15th January 1955 this No.8 Flying Training School aircraft collided in the circuit of Driffield airfield with Meteor VW459 also of the same unit. Both aircraft went on to landed safely at Driffield airfield. VW459 was slightly damaged and was later repaired. VW421 was apparently not damaged.
