Unidentified aircraft at (former) East Moor airfield.
In his book "The Eastmoor Experience" Brian Shields records that on an unknown date in the mid-1950's a Meteor made a landing on one of the disused runways of East Moor airfield. He stated that the pilot walked to nearby Low Carr Farm to get assistance. After some time the aircraft took off and was flown out despite the very overgrown state of the runway. The identity of the aircraft is not known nor are any other details. I have therefore listed it as an unidentified aircraft as I have not confirmed it was a Meteor, though given this was a common aircraft in the skies over this part of North Yorkshire at the time it does seem likely.
Pilot - Name unknown.
